Hi everyone

   It seems like 2012 is zooming by. March already! Which month is supposed to go out like and lamb and which one come in like a lion? Or is it vice versa? It would be wonderful if Mother Nature would bring spring now.

   There's not a lot going on Guild-wise during March. That will make a nice bit of rest before the West Kootenay Quilt Conference in April.

   March 6th is Liz's hand quilting class starting at 9 am. The class is open to everyone. See the blog under "Beginner Quilt Lessons" for what to bring.

   March 13th is our monthly business meeting at 7 pm. Attendance has been low the past few months so please try to be there. So far the agenda is light. The usual reports plus an update on the WKQC, first thoughts on the raffle quilt (Lesley) and quilt show (Kim and Rhonda P) from our new chairpeople, year-end windup ... that kind of thing. Let me know if you'd like anything discussed at the meeting.

   March 27th is the monthly in-guild starting at 9 am. Irene has recruited Lucille to teach something but won't spill the beans yet on what it is!

   Daytimes on March 13, 20 and 27 are wide open at this point in time. Bring a project, your lunch and enjoy a day out. It's been quite a while since we've seen some of you and we miss you.

March Events

March 13, 2012 9 am -  our first free motion group get-together. Bring your equipment, Dancing With Threads book, quilt sandwiches about a foot square made with whatever variety of fabrics and battings people have (will be used to build a reference book), and a variety of thread types for experimenting and practice.

Hand Quilting with Liz Annesley

Just a reminder about the Hand Quilting Class next Tue. March 6th. Please come even if you could not get all the supplies. Diane and I will have extra needles, thread etc. on hand. One more thing, before you put your suggested 2 foot sandwich together please mark your top with a l inch. grid. Kathy has some great markers for under $4.oo. Remember everyone is welcome.
