November News

Executive News

We are trying to make the evening meetings less business and more fun.  November 9th meeting will feature three 'technique stations' that everyone will get a chance to learn something different at.  If you have any request for activities or ideas for the new year please let me know, thanks.

There are only two pieces of business to discuss:
 1.  a vote on what to do about out meeting place, this will be done by written ballot.
2.  to think about and decide is what to do for our Christmas party.  We have the evening of Dec 7th booked at the hall.  A silent auction like last year has been suggested with the money going to the hamper fund so start deciding what you are finished with from your sewing room if this is what you want to do.  I have a fun game we could play with fat quarters. Do we want food? pot luck?  go out to eat before the fun??????? bring all your ideas and we will decide.
That’s it, the rest of the news is elsewhere in this newsletter so keep reading!
see you Nov.9th 7pm

November Events
Business Meeting - Tuesday, November 9, 7:00 p.m.
In-Guild Day - Tuesday, November 23, 9:00 a.m.
November In-Guild
In guild day is November 23rd. Marg Koide and Mary Cadman will be instructing in some creative surface design techniques. They will do a demo followed by hands on creation of your own fabric pieces.

Supplies will be available for your use. Bring tools to make interesting shapes on fabric, an old potatoe masher or cookie cutters are a couple of examples. We will be working with PFD (prepared for dyeing) fabric but if you want to play on top of commercial fabrics you could bring some of your own along. You might want to bring an apron...

We will play in the morning and you can do your own projects in the afternoon.

Guild Meeting Place

At the November 9th business meeting there will be a discussion, followed by a vote on where we should hold our guild meetings. The choices are a) the Senior’s Hall in the park b) Fibre Focus building on Donaldson or c) stay where we are.  Members who cannot make the meeting should advise the executive of their vote by emailing Rae at rayele@telus.net.
